Schedule/Hours:

  • Rotating shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • 16-week assignment starting 05/11

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
  • Active, unencumbered Hawaii RN license (must be valid through the contract duration)
  • Current AHA BLS/HCP, ACLS, and NIHSS required
  • AHA PALS and/or APEX NIHSS certification preferred
  • CPI (or equivalent) certification desired
  • Specialty certification in Critical Care (CCRN) highly valued
  • Must pass EKG exam with 80% or better during orientation
  • Minimum of two years’ full-time ICU RN experience (prior to any travel assignments)
  • Experience with Medical/Surgical/Mixed ICU preferred
  • CRRT experience is a strong advantage
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Previous assignments within the Queens Health System highly preferred
  • All travel RNs must be willing to float as needed to similar or lesser acuity units (Telemetry, Med/Surg, ED holds, PACU holds)
  • Compliance documentation required 10 days prior to start; incomplete compliance may result in a shortened contract
  • RTO (Requested Time Off) is not permitted for the duration of the initial contract period

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert nursing care in the ICU, responding to rapidly changing patient conditions
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Adapt quickly to different unit settings as needed
  • Use critical thinking to assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Document care using Epic EMR
