An opportunity is available for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide critical care in a 12-hour night shift setting. This travel position offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment supporting patients requiring specialized care in a Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center.
Location
The assignment is based near Kansas City, MO, at a well-equipped medical facility known for advanced trauma services and comprehensive critical care. The Liberty area offers a blend of suburban comfort and access to vibrant city amenities, including cultural attractions, dining, and outdoor recreation.
Responsibilities
- Deliver expert nursing care to ICU patients, including those with cardiothoracic and neurological conditions
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Float to Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit as required to maintain patient care standards
- Adhere to facility policies, including nicotine-free environment guidelines
- Participate in orientation and training to ensure seamless integration into the unit workflow
Qualifications
- Current RN license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years ICU nursing experience, preferably in Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center settings
- Certification or experience in treating CTS and Neuro patients highly desired
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR), especially systems similar to Cerner, advantageous
Schedule & Requirements
- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every third weekend on duty
- Participation in major and minor holiday staffing
- On-call duties with possible shift pushback or cancellations based on census
