Intensive Care RN | Mentor, Ohio

This contract opportunity offers the chance to work exclusively weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) in an advanced ICU known for managing acute stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), seizures, complex post-surgical cases, and patients needing invasive intracranial pressure monitoring, detailed neurological assessments, and comprehensive hemodynamic monitoring. The unit is equipped for regular CT, MRI, and angiography studies. Typical assignments are 2-3 patients per nurse, ensuring a manageable caseload and supportive environment.

Schedule:

• Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights (Weekend Block shifts)

Key Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Minimum of one year recent experience in a Neuro ICU environment
• Proficiency in neurological assessments, invasive monitoring, and critical care protocols
• Comfortable caring for a diverse set of high-acuity neurosurgical patients
• Flexibility to float to other ICUs or step-downs as required
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver gold-standard care to neurosurgical ICU patients with acute and complex needs
• Conduct frequent and thorough neurological assessments and interventions
• Monitor and interpret invasive intracranial and hemodynamic data
• Manage complex medication regimens and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Collaborate in continuous patient reassessment and care planning
• Document accurately and promptly in electronic medical records
• Adapt to floating between units as necessary to support patient care needs
