Critical Care Nurse in Mentor, OH

Provide specialized critical care nursing in a fast-paced Neurosurgical ICU environment, focusing on acute stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), seizures, and post-surgical patients requiring close neurological monitoring. This role demands expertise in invasive intracranial pressure monitoring, frequent neurological assessments, and hemodynamic support. You will manage patients with a 2-3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio and may occasionally support other ICU or step-down units.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in a 19-bed Neurosurgical ICU
• Monitor and manage patients requiring invasive intracranial pressure devices
• Perform routine neurological assessments and interpret diagnostic imaging such as CT, MRI, and angiography
• Manage hemodynamic monitoring and respond promptly to patient condition changes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Flexibly float to other ICU or Step Down units when needed

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) license with current credentials
• Proven experience in Neuro ICU settings, specifically in managing acute stroke, SAH, and post-neurosurgical care
• Strong skills in intracranial pressure monitoring and neurological assessments
• Ability to work independently during weekend night shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Adaptability to provide care across multiple critical care areas
