Critical Care Nurse in Newark, NJ

Step into a vital nursing position caring for critically ill cardiac patients in a dedicated intensive care unit. This contract role requires a compassionate and highly skilled RN with specialized ICU experience, focusing on those with advanced cardiac needs.

Schedule:

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM day shift
• Start Date: 11/02/2026

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• At least 3 years of recent ICU nursing experience, specifically in critical care or cardiac ICU
• Strong preference for experience managing Swan-Ganz or balloon catheters
• Proficient in advanced cardiac life support and emergency response protocols
• Excellent clinical assessment skills and ability to respond quickly in urgent situations
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with patients, families, and team members
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and common ICU monitoring systems

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe, evidence-based care to critically ill cardiac patients
• Perform continuous monitoring and assessment of complex cardiac patients, including those with invasive lines or advanced cardiac devices
• Titrate intravenous cardiac medications and manage ventilator and life support equipment
• Implement and adjust care plans quickly according to changing patient conditions
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Provide compassionate support to patients and their families, communicating clearly about condition changes and care procedures
• Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and clinical events in the medical record
