Intensive Care RN | Oakland, California

Expertise in critical care nursing is needed for a contract opportunity in the ICU. This role is ideal for experienced nurses skilled in high-acuity environments and passionate about making an immediate impact on patient outcomes.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shift: 4x8-hour shifts, 23:00 - 07:30
• No on-call required
• Weekend rotation included
• Floating to other units as needed

Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted California RN license is mandatory
• Valid BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience (4 years preferred)
• Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in rapidly changing situations
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Monitor, assess, and document vital signs and responses to interventions
• Collaborate seamlessly with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team
• Safely administer prescribed medications, IV drips, and manage complex medical equipment
• Respond efficiently to emergencies, performing life-saving interventions as needed
• Educate and support families about procedures, care plans, and patient progress
• Maintain a professional, compassionate bedside manner, ensuring patient dignity and comfort
• Float to other critical care units based on facility needs
