Expertise in critical care nursing is needed for a contract opportunity in the ICU. This role is ideal for experienced nurses skilled in high-acuity environments and passionate about making an immediate impact on patient outcomes.
Schedule/Hours:
- Night shift: 4x8-hour shifts, 23:00 - 07:30
- No on-call required
- Weekend rotation included
- Floating to other units as needed
Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted California RN license is mandatory
- Valid BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience (4 years preferred)
- Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in rapidly changing situations
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
- Monitor, assess, and document vital signs and responses to interventions
- Collaborate seamlessly with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team
- Safely administer prescribed medications, IV drips, and manage complex medical equipment
- Respond efficiently to emergencies, performing life-saving interventions as needed
- Educate and support families about procedures, care plans, and patient progress
- Maintain a professional, compassionate bedside manner, ensuring patient dignity and comfort
- Float to other critical care units based on facility needs
