Embark on an impactful nursing assignment in Interventional Radiology, working alongside an expert multidisciplinary team. This contract position is best suited for a Registered Nurse with strong critical care, procedural sedation, and IV therapy experience. You'll play a key part in both the procedural workflow and the crucial phases of patient preparation and post-procedural recovery.
Schedule/Hours:
- Day shifts: 7:00 am – 4:30 pm or 7:30 am – 5:00 pm
- Four 9-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- No weekend shifts required on a regular basis
- Holiday coverage: 1 holiday may be required based on contract duration
- On-call rotation: 1 night per week, 1 weekend on-call every 4th–5th weekend (subject to department needs)
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
- Active RN license, current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Prior experience in Interventional Radiology, critical care, and procedural sedation
- Proficiency in managing multiple titratable drips during angiographic and neurointerventional procedures
- Strong assessment and decision-making skills under pressure
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for procedures: initiate IV lines, perform blood draws, review medications, and complete pre-procedure checklists
- Monitor patients closely during sedation and intervention, ensuring all titratable infusions are properly managed
- Oversee patient recovery post-procedure, assess for complications, and record all care activities with accurate flowsheets
- Deliver thorough discharge instructions and coordinate ongoing care needs with interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain safety and adhere to best practices throughout all phases of patient care
