Registered Nurse IR - Leonardtown, Maryland

Advance your nursing career in a dynamic interventional radiology environment. We are searching for a skilled Registered Nurse experienced in IR to support a busy vascular-focused unit. This assignment responds to a confirmed staffing need, filling the upcoming vacancy when the current IR RN transitions out in mid-August. Be part of the essential care team performing critical procedures, partnering closely with radiologists and physicians.

Schedule/Hours:

• Full-time contract assignment

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license with current standing
• Recent experience in Interventional Radiology nursing required
• Solid background in vascular procedures (PE, thrombectomies, DVTs, angiograms, fistulas, nephrostomies)
• Excellent critical thinking and rapid assessment skills
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide expert nursing care for patients undergoing IR vascular procedures
• Monitor and assess patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, managing complications promptly
• Facilitate patient safety by upholding strict protocols and infection prevention measures
• Educate patients and families on pre- and post-procedure expectations
• Document all activities and observations accurately in the electronic medical record
• Work closely with radiologists and the healthcare team to coordinate and deliver high-quality patient care
