Apply NowAn exceptional opportunity awaits for a skilled Registered Nurse with Interventional Radiology (IR) experience to provide essential patient care within a specialized radiology department. This contract position ensures seamless care for patients undergoing all-vascular IR procedures—including PE, thrombectomies, DVT treatments, angiograms, fistulas, and nephrostomies. There are no neuro, stroke, or cardiac catheterization responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert nursing care to patients participating in IR procedures, exclusively vascular cases
- Prepare patients pre-procedure, ensuring informed consent and adherence to clinical protocols
- Monitor and assess patients throughout all procedural phases, responding promptly to clinical changes
- Administer and titrate moderate sedation as needed, observing safety protocols
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, technologists, and other medical professionals for optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain precise clinical documentation related to assessments, interventions, and outcomes
- Educate patients and families on procedures, post-procedure care, and recovery expectations
- Uphold all regulatory standards for patient safety, infection control, and privacy regulations
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license without restriction
- Minimum of one year of recent IR nursing experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications (current and valid)
- Demonstrated proficiency in caring for patients with vascular IR needs; experience with procedures such as deep vein thrombosis management, angiograms, and nephrostomy care is essential
- Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to flourish in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
