An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) to provide expert care in a busy, all-vascular IR environment. This position is essential to maintaining high-quality patient care as the current IR RN transitions out mid-August. The clinical focus includes PE, thrombectomies, DVT, angiograms, fistulas, nephrostomies, and related procedures—no cath lab, neuro, or stroke cases required.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of one year recent experience in Interventional Radiology nursing
- Demonstrated proficiency assisting with vascular procedures such as PE, thrombectomies, DVT, angiograms, and nephrostomies
- Strong IV skills and familiarity with sedation protocols
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, technologists, and support staff
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing vascular IR procedures
- Monitor patient status before, during, and after interventions, responding swiftly to changes in condition
- Collaborate closely with the IR procedural team to prepare rooms, equipment, and medications
- Deliver patient and family education regarding procedures, post-procedure care, and recovery instructions
- Ensure timely and thorough documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR
- Uphold all clinical policies, safety standards, and infection prevention protocols
