Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and unrestricted RN license
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Interventional Radiology nursing
- Demonstrated proficiency in assisting with IR procedures, including vascular access, biopsies, catheter placements, and embolizations
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications (current)
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, patient sedation, and post-procedure care
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to perform well both independently and within a collaborative team
- Experience with electronic health records documentation is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures
- Administer conscious sedation and monitor patient response throughout procedures
- Prepare and maintain sterile procedure environments
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care before, during, and after IR procedures
- Monitor and manage patient vital signs and comfort, responding promptly to changes
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures, aftercare, and any follow-up appointments
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in accordance with facility protocols
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes
