Medical-Surgical RN in Altoona, PA

Experienced registered nurses with a background in medical-surgical care are needed for a dynamic contract opportunity. This role centers on delivering direct patient care, collaborating on interdisciplinary teams, and supporting patient recovery on a medical-surgical unit.

Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position
• Multiple shifts available (day, evening, overnight)

Key Qualifications:

• Current and valid RN license
• Minimum of one year of recent experience on a medical-surgical unit
• Demonstrated knowledge of patient assessment, care planning, and medication administration
• Strong communication and charting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Current BLS certification (Advanced certifications are a plus)
• Adept in adapting to fast-paced and changing clinical environments

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly
• Document all care activities in accordance with established guidelines
• Communicate promptly and effectively with physicians, care teams, and families
• Educate patients and families about treatments, procedures, and post-discharge care
• Maintain safety and infection control standards at all times
