Registered Nurse Med Surg | Atlanta, Georgia

Make a meaningful difference in patient care through a nursing position focused on a diverse adult to geriatric population within a dynamic Med/Surg setting. This contract role requires clinical expertise in areas including renal care, HD catheter management, manual and PD cycler processes, sepsis, tele monitoring, CIWA protocols for ETOH withdrawal, UTI treatment, CKD management, and hypertensive emergencies.

Schedule/Hours:

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required per facility guidelines
• Maximum 7 days requested time off

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (first-time travelers are welcome)
• BLS certification required
• Strong experience in Med/Surg units with a focus on renal conditions preferred
• Comfortable providing care for adult and geriatric patients
• Ability to work with census ratios of 1:6 and familiarity with 20-room units
• Proficiency with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
• Flexible attitude towards floating as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe, patient-centered care to a varied patient population
• Execute assessment, monitoring, and documentation of patient status
• Maintain high standards of infection control and emergency response
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimized patient outcomes
• Provide support for HD caths, PD cycling, ETOH detox protocols, and sepsis management

• No call requirements
• Compliance with onboarding and completion of required orientation hours is needed for timely start
• Expectation to work specified major holidays based on assignment duration
