Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Augusta, Kansas

Step into a dynamic nursing role within a team-oriented Intermediate Medical/Telemetry Unit. This contract position offers valuable experience in a 37-bed unit staffed by a highly collaborative group of RNs, patient care technicians, and unit clerks. Schedule/Hours:

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM shifts
• Rotating schedule, including every other weekend

Required Qualifications:

• Current, valid RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Med-surg or telemetry experience
• Proficient with PCA pumps, IV pumps, and chest tubes
• Strong critical thinking skills and proactive engagement

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with heart catheterization recovery and bubble studies
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
• Ability to manage typical unit procedures including central lines and medication drips

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality care accurately and compassionately to a diverse patient population
• Monitor patients on telemetry and respond swiftly to changes in condition
• Implement care protocols for heart catheterization recovery patients
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes
• Document accurately in the Meditech electronic health record system
• Utilize advanced equipment such as PCA and IV pumps and manage chest tubes as needed
