Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Bessemer, Alabama

Schedule & Assignment Details:

• 12-hour day shifts, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• 13-week contract

Qualifications:

• Current, valid RN license
• Recent experience as an RN in a Med-Surg environment
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
• Up-to-date BLS certification (additional certifications preferred)
• Proficient in electronic medical records documentation
• Flexible, quick to adapt, and committed to patient-centered care

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients on the medical-surgical unit
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, reporting changes promptly
• Administer medications and carry out treatment plans in alignment with provider orders
• Educate patients and families on medical conditions, post-discharge care, and medication management
• Accurately document all interventions, care, and outcomes in the EMR
• Work collaboratively with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and safety standards
