Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Bessemer, Alabama

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts
• 36 hours per week (3x12 hour shifts)
• 13-week assignment

Qualifications:

• Active and unencumbered Alabama RN license or multistate compact license (pending applications not accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in medical-surgical or med-surg nursing
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records system
• Flexible scheduling mindset; unable to guarantee blocked schedules

Role Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments following current protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff for optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document nursing interventions and patient responses in Cerner
• Prioritize patient safety by monitoring for changes in condition and responding promptly
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care
• Uphold professional standards and follow facility policies at all times
