Deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic medical-surgical and telemetry environment located in Bonaire, GA. This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced RNs with at least 2 years in MedSurg/Telemetry nursing or first-time travelers eager to expand their clinical expertise. Work in a Level 1 Trauma Designated teaching hospital known for comprehensive cardiac and stroke services, supporting patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions including diabetes, CHF, and post-surgical recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert nursing care for patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses in 20-36 bed MedSurg units
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage telemetry services including post-cath and groin site care
- Administer and titrate drips such as insulin, heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, and others with precision and confidence
- Perform trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and maintain strict infection control
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for discharge planning, patient education, and overall care coordination
- Float among MedSurg/Tele units as needed, adapting flexibly to meet patient care demands
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with 2+ years MedSurg/Telemetry experience preferred; first-time travelers welcome
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred with successful EKG competency exam during orientation
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and vascular access management
- Strong assessment, time management, and patient education skills essential
- Comfortable working with drips and monitoring complex cardiac patients
Work Schedule & Culture:
- 12-hour shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A) on a 6-week rotation including 5-6 weekends, no call
- Holiday shifts require coverage of one major holiday per year
- Busy and team-oriented unit with supportive resources including CNA assistance, resource nurses, and 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist coverage
