Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A)
  • Weekend rotation required (5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
  • Holiday coverage (one shift per major holiday)
  • No on-call obligation

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active RN license and current BLS certification required
  • Must possess Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) knowledge and pass an EKG competency exam during compliance
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ recent RN experience in a Med-Surg/Telemetry setting
  • National certification in medical-surgical nursing or nephrology nursing is preferred but not mandatory
  • Proficient in clinical assessment, cardiac monitoring, IV/catheter care, wound care, post-op monitoring, and comprehensive care coordination
  • Skilled in working with advanced equipment including EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, and Phillips monitors

Key Responsibilities:

  • Care for patients with orthopedic surgeries, bariatric procedures, spinal conditions, post-operative recovery, and complex co-morbidities (diabetes, CHF, infections)
  • Administer and monitor medication drips (cardiac, insulin, heparin) and perform regular patient assessments
  • Collaborate closely with CNAs, unit secretaries, resource nurses, and an interdisciplinary team for holistic patient care
  • Deliver patient education, coordinate discharge planning, and facilitate fluid and renal management
  • Float as needed to other adult med-surg or telemetry units
