Step into a dynamic, high-acuity environment at a renowned teaching hospital, designated as both a Level 1 Trauma and Chest Pain Center. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including individuals dealing with heart failure, A-Fib, chronic kidney disease, respiratory conditions, and post-surgical recovery.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts: 7A–7P or 7P–7A
  • Weekend rotation: 5–6 shifts per 12 in a 6-week cycle
  • No on-call requirement
  • Holiday coverage: One major holiday per cycle

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Med/Surg Telemetry
  • BLS required
  • ACLS and Medical-Surgical certification preferred
  • Ability to pass an EKG (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) competency
  • Strong clinical assessment and med-surg skills in a Level 1 Trauma setting
  • First-time travelers welcome

Desired Experience & Skills:

  • Trach care, chest tube, PIV starts
  • Insulin and heparin drips
  • Clinical wound, central line, and groin management
  • Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
  • Care coordination, patient education, and discharge planning
  • IV insertion, Foley management
  • Use of EMR (Epic), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, and Philips monitors

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to a 1:4–6 nurse-patient ratio
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration for optimal patient outcomes
  • Support care with CNAs and resource nurses on the unit
  • Adaptability to float to various med-surg/telemetry units as needed
