As a travel RN in a dynamic 32-bed Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg environment, you’ll work alongside talented clinicians using EPIC as the charting system, with a unique chance to expand your expertise in a setting that combines medical-surgical, orthopedic, and neuro patient care. Exposure to a variety of patient populations, unit practices, and interdisciplinary leadership will empower you to grow as you adapt your skills and knowledge. You’ll gain valuable experience to add to your resume—whether floating to other units or rotating shifts (day, evening, and night opportunities).
Schedule/Hours:
- 36 hours per week
- Day Rotators may be assigned to 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a shifts as needed (rotation is infrequent)
- Night positions are consistent with no rotations
- Every other weekend required
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts RN license and current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Med/Surg nursing with strong neuro and telemetry skills
- Proficiency in interpreting tele strips
- Comfortable floating to similar units if requested
- Experience with EPIC charting preferred
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care for elective orthopedic, neuro, surgical, and medical overflow patients
- Monitor and interpret telemetry for patient safety
- Perform thorough neuro assessments and respond swiftly to changes
- Document patient data accurately using EPIC
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes
- Adjust to fluctuations in patient ratios (typically 1:4-5 days/eves, 1:5-6 nights)
