Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse in Charlotte, NC

Schedule/Hours:

• Shifts: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm or 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
• Weekend rotation required (every other weekend)
• Holiday coverage: Expectation to work 75% of holidays during assignment
• No on-call required
• Rotating 6-week schedule cycles

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in a Med-Surg/Tele setting
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Proficient with stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, IV starts, chest tube and drain management, NGTs, foley catheter care, PCA pumps, and cardiac drip/IV medication management
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Willingness to float within region and adapt to fast-changing unit needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients with diverse and complex conditions (COPD, CHF, pneumonia, injuries, DVT, GI bleeds, and more)
• Interpret telemetry rhythms and manage appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including CNAs, resource nurses, charge nurses, secretaries, phlebotomists, IV/VAT teams, and licensed providers
• Manage medication administration, tube and drain care, and patient monitoring per unit protocols
• Maintain thorough documentation and ensure compliance with all safety policies
