Bring your expertise as an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RN to a dynamic, high-acuity healthcare environment. This contract role places you on a collaborative Resource Team, caring for diverse adult patient populations, such as end stage renal disease, fluid overload, diabetes, altered mental status, sickle cell, and complex wound management.
Schedule & Hours
- Every other weekend rotation
- No on-call requirement
- Expectation to work 75% of holidays
- Up to 6 days requested time off (excluding holidays), with options to extend contract for unmet hours
- Schedule is released every 6 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- At least 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Proficiency with stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, tracheostomy and chest tube management, PIV skills, NGT/PEG tube care, and wound drains (Hemovac, JP, flexiseals)
- Experience managing cardiac drips, heparin, IV fluids, blood products, and PCA pumps
- Ability to float among multiple regional facilities and units within scope of practice (floating is required)
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to a variety of adult patients in a telemetry environment
- Prioritize safe, effective patient ratios—generally 1:5-6 (may be higher in surges)
- Collaborate closely with CNAs, HUCs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT teams, hospitalists, and respiratory therapists
- Use advanced hospital technology, including Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Philips monitors
- Participate in initial site and unit-specific orientations
