Seeking experienced Registered Nurses with a passion for ortho care to deliver high-quality, compassionate care on a 13-week contract assignment within a dynamic 30-bed orthopedic unit. This night shift opportunity (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), guarantees 36 or 48 hours per week (please specify your preference upon applying), and involves every other weekend as needed. Orientation for new staff will be scheduled during day shifts, so full availability for orientation week is essential.
What you'll bring:
- Valid RN license in Missouri or eligibility for licensure.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years recent inpatient orthopedic nursing experience.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records.
- Ability to float to similar or lower acuity units as required.
- Exceptional teamwork, reliability, and adaptability.
Duties will include:
- Conducting assessments, planning, and guiding patient care for diverse ortho and post-surgical populations.
- Implementing and evaluating nursing interventions, and collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintaining accurate patient documentation and upholding patient rights and privacy.
- Participating in orientation, following hospital protocol, and working collaboratively to ensure optimal patient comfort.
- Adhering to infection control and safety practices, including exposure precautions.
- Wearing black scrubs per dress code.
Work environment details:
- Moderate to heavy physical activity: standing, walking, bending, lifting and assisting patients (push/pull up to 50 lbs).
- High exposure risk for blood and body fluids.
- Exposure to a variety of medical cases including trauma, stroke, and orthopedic surgery.
