Medical-Surgical RN in Chicago, IL

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of one year of Medical-Surgical (MS) nursing experience
• Strong assessment, triage, and patient care planning skills
• Familiarity with EMR and hospital documentation standards
• Positive, adaptable approach and strong interpersonal abilities
• Current BLS certification (other credentials may be required)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive care to adult medical-surgical patients, closely monitoring statuses and responding to changes in condition
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and execute care plans per physician orders
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity and quality of care for diverse patients
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with hospital standards
• Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care
• Uphold infection control protocols and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment
