Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) in Chicago, IL

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current and valid RN license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum of one year of experience in a medical-surgical nursing setting
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and prioritize multiple tasks

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population with medical and surgical needs
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, and monitor patients' progress
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and support staff
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery processes
• Document care accurately within electronic medical records
• Respond promptly to emergent situations using sound clinical judgment
• Adhere to facility and health system policies, as well as industry best practices
