Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Cicero, Illinois

Desired Qualifications:

• Current and unencumbered RN license
• Minimum of one year of recent experience in a medical-surgical nursing setting
• Strong assessment, organizational, and critical thinking skills
• Competency in administering medications and IV therapy
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• BLS certification (required); ACLS preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care within a medical-surgical unit, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Monitor, chart, and report changes in patient conditions to physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to prescribed protocols
• Collaborate with care teams to develop individualized patient care plans and update them as necessary
• Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatments, discharge planning, and ongoing care
• Ensure infection control procedures and patient safety standards are consistently upheld
• Participate in shift change reports and case discussions to support optimal patient transitions
