Providing skilled nursing care on a MedSurg/Telemetry unit within a Level I Trauma, Teaching, Chest Pain, Stroke Certified, and Magnet Designated hospital. This role requires a compassionate Registered Nurse experienced in managing diverse patient populations with medical, surgical, and trauma needs, including complex conditions like renal and liver failure, transplant care, and acute rejection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care with a focus on MedSurg and telemetry nursing, including cardiac rhythm interpretation and stroke care.
  • Manage multiple specialized equipment and procedures, such as chest tubes, tracheostomy care, PCA pumps, and various drain/tube management.
  • Administer medication drips including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and intravenous fluids.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including CNAs, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists to provide coordinated patient care.
  • Monitor and respond to telemetry data independently, utilizing EPIC EMR and Phillips monitoring systems.
  • Float within the designated regional facilities as needed, supporting various sites aligned with your scope of practice.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid RN license with at least 2 years’ experience in MedSurg/Telemetry nursing.
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
  • Proficiency in stroke patient care, cardiac rhythm analysis, and critical nursing skills including PIV starts and tube insertions.
  • Willingness to float across assigned regional facilities within scope of practice.
  • Reliable with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Location and Region Details: Position is located in Concord, NC, with floating required within regional hospitals in the surrounding areas including Pineville, Anson, Union, and several central division facilities. Concord itself offers a blend of suburban comfort with rich local culture, accessible outdoor activities, and a family-friendly atmosphere that makes it an excellent place to live and work.

Schedule:

  • Weekend rotation: every other weekend
  • Work 75% of holidays, no call required
  • Up to 6 days of time off (excluding holidays) can be approved, with contract hour adjustment if needed
