Advance your career as a Registered Nurse within an Adult and Geriatric Med-Surg/Telemetry environment, supporting emergency department decompression and diverse specialties. This contract opportunity requires a skilled, compassionate RN ready to care for patients across various units, with an adaptable attitude toward regional floating as needs evolve.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour shifts: 7a-7p or 7p-7a
  • Weekend rotation: every other weekend
  • No on-call requirement
  • Holiday coverage: 75% of holidays required
  • Schedule operates on a 6-week cycle
  • Up to 6 days of requested time off may be approved (excluding holidays)

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
  • Comfort with adult/geriatric patient populations and common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, injuries, DVT, and GI bleeds
  • Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, drain/tube management, and management of medication infusions and blood products
  • Experience using Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing preferred
  • Flexibility and willingness to float within region, as assignment requires

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care for patients with varying levels of acuity (typical RN ratios: 1:4-6, surge up to 1:7-8)
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry, managing cardiac, respiratory, and complex medical needs
  • Collaborate with CNAs, secretaries, phlebotomists, RTs, and hospitalists for comprehensive, team-based care
  • Manage electronic health records and work within coordinated, multidisciplinary teams
