A dynamic role is available for an experienced RN with a strong MedSurg/Telemetry skillset. This contract opportunity involves working within a robust healthcare environment, serving a patient population encompassing end stage renal, fluid overload, sickle cell, diabetes, altered mental status, cellulitis, diabetic ulcers, pancreatitis, and behavioral health. You’ll be assigned a home unit during orientation and may be required to float among several facilities within the designated region as needed.
Schedule/Hours:
- Rotating weekends (every other)
- No on-call duties
- 75% holiday coverage required
- Scheduling cycle is every 6 weeks
- Request up to 6 days off, excluding holidays
Qualifications:
- Minimum 18 months experience in Med/Tele settings
- Active RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Comprehensive Med/Tele skills: stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement
- Proficiency in managing drains/tubes (Dobhoff, PEG, Hemovac, JP, flexiseals, Foley)
- Medication/drip management, including cardiac, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids
- Familiarity with Epic, Alaris, Omnicell, and Phillips monitoring systems
- Comfortable with floating between facilities within assigned region
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and compassionate care to a diverse patient group
- Manage patient ratios ranging from 1:5-6 (up to 1:7-8 during peak periods)
- Coordinate with CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, and interdisciplinary teams for quality patient outcomes
- Accurately monitor and document patient status utilizing contemporary EMR and equipment
- Participate in required orientation and maintain compliance with schedule and holiday expectations
