This contract role offers the opportunity to deliver top-tier, compassionate care as a Registered Nurse specializing in Med/Surg and Telemetry within a resource team environment. You will care for a variety of adult patients, including those with complex medical and surgical needs (renal, hepatic, GI disorders, pre/post-transplant, trauma, and more). The facility, a Magnet-designated teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center, is dedicated to advanced care and clinical excellence.
Schedule:
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- No call required for travelers
- Must be willing to float within the assigned region as needed
- 36-bed unit, with RN ratios typically 1:4-6 (may surge up to 1:7-8)
Qualifications:
- Active RN license and current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- At least 2 years' recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
- Strong skills in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, drain and tube management (NGT, PEG, Foley, etc.), PCA pump
- Proficient in medication and drip administration, including cardiac drips, heparin, and blood products
- Experience with Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care and clinical assessment for a diverse adult population
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage med/surg and telemetry interventions
- Initiate appropriate plans of care and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Respond quickly to clinical changes, especially in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting
- Float to regional facilities as staffing needs demand, within your RN scope of practice
