Travel Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Concord, NC

Deliver high-quality care as a skilled MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse in a dynamic hospital setting focused on adult and geriatric populations. This travel opportunity offers the chance to work across five med-surg and med-tele units designed to alleviate emergency department congestion and support specialized care areas. The units include a 19-bed ADTU and 34 satellite beds spread across multiple specialized stations, providing diverse clinical experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with conditions such as COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, pulmonary embolism, GI bleeds, and more.
• Perform advanced clinical skills including cardiac rhythm interpretation, tracheostomy care, PIV starts, chest tube management, and PCA pump management.
• Administer and manage medication drips, blood products, and IV fluids.
• Collaborate with CNA, secretary, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT teams, and hospitalists to deliver coordinated care.
• Monitor telemetry patients and complete rhythm interpretations each shift using Philips telemetry monitors.
• Utilize EMR systems (Epic), Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing technology efficiently.
• Float within the designated regional facilities as required, supporting unit staffing needs.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license with a minimum of 2 years MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience preferred.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Proficient in managing complex med-surgical and telemetry patient populations.
• Ability to float within the assigned region.
• Experience with advanced procedures like chest tube and drain management, and enteral feeding tubes.

Schedule & Work Environment:

• 12-hour shifts, either 7 am-7 pm or 7 pm-7 am.
• Weekend rotation every other weekend; no on-call duties.
• Work approximately 75% of holidays with up to 6 days off approved during the contract.
• Scrub color: Navy blue.
