This opportunity on a 10-bed Medical/Telemetry unit provides daily exposure to a wide range of cardiovascular, neurological, and general med-surg cases, offering a robust platform for enhancing your clinical skillset. You’ll be surrounded by a supportive team and advanced resources in a teaching hospital setting, broadening your perspective on diverse workplace cultures and modern leadership practices.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Shifts: 0650-1910 or 1850-0710
  • Every other weekend rotation
  • Holiday commitment: 75% of major holidays
  • Up to 6 days of requested time off (excluding holidays), with flexibility to extend contract for additional days

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (Med/Tele experience required)
  • Minimum 18 months of recent experience in Medical/Surgical Telemetry
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team)
  • Proficiency in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV/PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT, PCA pumps, various drain/tube types, and cardiac drip/IVF management
  • Experience with EPIC EMR and Omnicell/Alaris equipment
  • Float flexibility within the region as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care for conditions like chest pain, syncope, and angina
  • Accurate documentation and medication administration, including drips and blood products
  • Manage admissions, discharges, and coordinate with multidisciplinary support (supervisor, resource RN, IV/VAT team, hospitalists, RT)
  • Participate actively in a collaborative team culture distinguished by camaraderie and shared learning
