This travel nursing opportunity in a large, nationally recognized teaching hospital offers more than clinical practice. You'll work on a dedicated, collaborative medical-surgical/telemetry unit specializing in complex cardiac and stroke cases. Advance your expertise in a Trauma Level III, Stroke Center of Excellence, collaborating daily with seasoned professionals from multiple disciplines and learning leadership approaches unique to major academic medical centers.

Floating within the hospital’s regional network provides even more diversity in experience—expanding your adaptability and skill base—while the support of a great team environment keeps each day rewarding.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Shift times: 6:50am–7:10pm or 6:50pm–7:10am
  • Weekend rotation: every other weekend
  • Holiday coverage: 75% of holidays required
  • RTO: Up to 6 days off (exc. holidays), with add-on contract time

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license, BLS, ACLS required; NIHSS preferred (Resource Team)
  • Minimum 18 months recent Med/Tele RN experience (first-time travelers considered case-by-case)
  • Proficiency in stroke/cardiac patient care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, NGT placement, drain/tube management, PCA pumps, and med gtt management (cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, IV fluids)
  • EPIC EMR proficiency

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a 1:5 nurse-patient ratio, primarily with chest pain, syncope, and angina patients
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of supervisors, charge/resource RNs, phlebotomy/IV teams, RTs, and hospitalists
  • Float as needed within regional hospital units, remaining clocked in if moving mid-shift
