Registered Nurse Med Surg | Cortland, New York

Deliver exceptional care to patients on a fast-paced Medical-Surgical unit as a Registered Nurse. This engaging contract opportunity offers an immersive environment where your clinical expertise, critical thinking, and compassion will make a meaningful difference in patient lives.

Schedule/Hours:

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for a diverse med-surg patient population, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and accurate record-keeping
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support optimal outcomes
• Respond swiftly to changes in patient status, implementing interventions and advocating for patient needs
• Support a culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement on the unit
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid and unencumbered RN license
• Minimum of one year recent experience in Medical-Surgical nursing
• Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and communication skills
• Proficiency with EHR documentation and common med-surg procedures
• Ability to multitask in a busy hospital setting and respond effectively in high-acuity situations
• BLS certification (required); additional certifications such as ACLS preferred
