Seeking a skilled RN with a strong foundation in medical-surgical nursing to provide high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients. This contract assignment offers the chance to work in a busy unit focused on renal cases, including hemodialysis catheter management and peritoneal dialysis. Ideal for professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and are comfortable with patient populations managing sepsis, hypertension emergencies, CKD, and related conditions.

Schedule:

  • 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Rotational holidays based on assignment length; expected to work select major holidays
  • Maximum 7 days of requested time off permitted
  • Floating to other units may be required

Qualifications:

  • Active and unencumbered RN license
  • At least 2 years of experience in medical-surgical settings (first-time travelers welcome)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Experience with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems preferred
  • Comfortable with patient ratios averaging 1:6 and a daily census of 18
  • Competence in tele monitoring, management of ETOH withdrawal (CIWA), UTI, and renal emergencies
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and adaptability

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for adult and geriatric patients, especially those with renal conditions
  • Manage hemodialysis catheters and peritoneal dialysis (manual and cycler)
  • Monitor patients for signs of sepsis and hypertensive crises
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for optimal patient outcomes
  • Utilize electronic charting and medication dispensing systems accurately
  • Ensure compliance with facility clinical and orientation requirements
