A rewarding nursing opportunity is available for experienced Registered Nurses with a focus on Med/Surg renal care. This contract position in Decatur, Georgia, offers the chance to work in a dynamic adult to geriatric patient population with specialized exposure to renal dialysis and critical care conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with a focus on renal conditions, including hemodialysis catheter management and manual peritoneal dialysis.
  • Monitor patients for sepsis, alcohol withdrawal (CIWA), urinary tract infections, chronic kidney disease, and hypertensive emergencies.
  • Utilize Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR documentation systems efficiently to maintain patient records and coordinate care.
  • Manage a patient census averaging 18 across 20 rooms, working collaboratively in a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.
  • Adhere to unit protocols and participate in floating assignments as necessary.
  • Work a consistent schedule of three 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) with every other weekend off.
  • Observe major holidays as part of the contract requirements.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience; new graduates are considered.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Clinical proficiency in Med/Surg nursing with a focus on renal care and related complications.
  • Comfortable working with a variety of patient monitoring and dialysis equipment.
  • Ability to work within a team using established electronic health records and medication dispensing systems.
