Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care as a registered nurse in a telemetry intermediate care setting. This contract assignment is an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to contribute to a collaborative and supportive environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM shifts
Unit Overview:
- 37-bed telemetry unit located on the third floor
- Team structure includes 8 RNs, 3 Patient Care Techs, and 1 Unit Clerk per day, with a similar ratio at night
- Patient ratios of 1:6, and 1:4 for those in Heart Cath recovery
- Equipment: PCA pumps, IV pumps, chest tubes; all documentation via Meditech EMR
Key Qualifications:
- Valid RN license with recent experience in medical-surgical or intermediate care settings
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strongly preferred: Experience with central line management, medication drips, heart catheterization recovery, and bubble studies
- Recognized for a positive, engaged attitude and strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care for telemetry and medical-surgical patients
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, respond to emergencies, and deliver appropriate interventions
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including other nursing staff and Patient Care Techs
- Manage and adjust medical devices, administer medication drips, and provide chest tube care as required
- Assist patients recovering from cardiac catheterizations, supporting recovery and monitoring outcomes
