Medical-Surgical RN in Derby, KS

Step into a dynamic and highly supportive Intermediate Care Unit, specializing in telemetry nursing for adult patients. This role is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments and possess strong critical thinking abilities. You’ll be entrusted with responsibilities caring for a diverse patient population—ranging from post-heart catheterization to complex medication drips—on a well-equipped 37-bed unit.

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum of BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prior experience in medical-surgical and/or telemetry settings strongly preferred
• Confident with various types of equipment, including PCA pumps, IV pumps, and chest tubes
• Meditech EMR experience is a plus
• Appreciation for a culture that values independence, teamwork, engagement, and a positive attitude

Preferred Experience:

• Skills in managing central lines, administering medication drips, and heart cath recovery
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing acuity and practice critical decision making

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent nursing care for a patient load of approximately one nurse to six patients (one to four for heart cath patients)
• Initiate, monitor, and manage telemetry and various medical devices
• Perform and document assessments using Meditech EMR
• Work closely with a dedicated day and night shift staff comprised of RNs, Patient Care Techs, and Unit Clerks
• Support patients through recovery processes, including heart cath procedures and bubble studies
