Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) - Des Plaines, IL

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current, unrestricted RN license
• Demonstrated proficiency in Medical-Surgical nursing, with recent and relevant experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to adapt, work independently, and prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Familiarity with electronic health records and standard charting procedures

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, and clinical interventions according to established policies
• Monitor, evaluate, and document patient status, collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, procedures, and treatments to support recovery and well-being
• Ensure safe patient handoffs and transitions of care
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, utilizing resources and protocols effectively
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff
