RN Med Surg | Elgin, Oklahoma

Provide comprehensive nursing care during the night shift by assessing patient needs and developing individualized care plans. This role requires strong leadership skills and collaboration with ancillary nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams to uphold professional nursing standards. The position involves caring for diverse patient populations, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, within a Med-Surg setting. Flexibility to float to other Med-Surg units as needed is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop nursing diagnoses and care plans
• Administer and document medications accurately
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs with proficiency
• Adjust and monitor specialized medical devices, interpreting and recording data
• Monitor patient vitals and promptly report any adverse medication reactions
• Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare team members
• Maintain standards of professional nursing practice in all clinical activities

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current registered nurse (RN) licensure required
• Minimum of 1 year Med-Surg experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to handle a 1:5 patient ratio efficiently during night shifts
• Willingness to float across Med-Surg units as necessary

Schedule:

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
