Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Elmira, New York

Deliver critical care and make a difference in patients’ lives as a skilled, compassionate registered nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) care. This is a 13-week contract opportunity offering a fast-paced work environment that allows you to utilize your full range of nursing expertise.

Schedule:

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week

Key Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted RN license
• Minimum of one year of recent experience in Medical-Surgical or Med Surg units
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population on a busy Med Surg floor
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and monitor patient outcomes
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures with accuracy and compassion
• Collaborate closely with physicians, ancillary staff, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions and post-discharge care instructions
• Document patient information and nursing interventions accurately within the EHR
