Registered Nurse Med Surg | Elmira, New York

Deliver exceptional patient care as a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units. This contract opportunity is ideal for dedicated nursing professionals with broad clinical experience and a commitment to the highest standards of practice.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current and valid RN license
• Proven skills in Medical-Surgical (MS) and Telemetry environments
• Minimum of one year of recent RN experience in med-surg or telemetry preferred
• Knowledge of electronic health record systems and telemetry monitoring equipment
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient assessment skills
• BLS certification required; ACLS certificate highly desirable

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs regularly
• Administer medications, IVs, and prescribed treatments accurately
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Monitor cardiac status and respond effectively to telemetry alerts
• Educate patients and families on care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Ensure accurate documentation of all interventions and patient progress
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment aligned with infection control protocols
