Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Gastonia, North Carolina

This role is an exceptional opportunity for experienced Med/Tele RNs eager to broaden their scope. You’ll be part of a resource team that rotates through a variety of fast-paced units designed to decompress EDs and specialty areas. Working alongside a talented multidisciplinary team, you’ll encounter diverse patient populations with diagnoses ranging from COPD and CHF to trauma and stroke, honing your clinical skills and leadership adaptability.

You’ll be supported every step of the way—orientation, robust team collaboration, and 24/7 resources like phlebotomy, RT, hospitalists, and intensivists. With a schedule that alternates between days and nights (7a–7p, 7p–7a) and every other weekend, you’ll have flexibility and the perfect balance of work and exploration.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years recent Med/Tele RN experience (resource team background a plus)
• RN license (NC or compact)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke management, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube/drain management, NGT/PEG placement, and med gtt management (including cardiac drips and blood products)
• EMR experience with Epic preferred

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult/geriatric patients across multiple med-surg and tele units
• Monitor, interpret telemetry, and complete shift interpretations
• Manage IVs, tubes, drains, and medication infusions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including CNAs, secretaries, and resource nurses
• Float to various units and locations within the designated region as needed
