Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Gordon, Georgia

Step into a vital nursing role, supporting emergency and medical-surgical patients within a dynamic hospital environment. This contract opportunity offers 12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm – 7:00 am) on a 36-hour workweek, with a carefully balanced weekend and holiday rotation to ensure work-life balance.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation: 6 shifts within a 6-week period (12 shifts)
• Holiday coverage: 1 shift each on major holidays (Thanksgiving or day after, 12/24 or 12/25, 12/31 or 1/1)

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Georgia required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; BCR required, TNCC and Emergency Nursing certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Emergency Department RN
• Competence in managing drips (heparin, insulin, Cardene, dopamine, epinephrine, fentanyl, propofol, levophed)
• Comfortable with phlebotomy and nurse-drawn labs
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and reading strips
• Experience with charting in EPIC, using Alaris pumps, Omnicell, Phillips monitors, and other patient care equipment

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to diverse patient populations, including cardiac, diabetic, trauma, and mental health cases in a high-acuity setting
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including hospitalists, intensivists, RTs, and LPNs
• Float as needed within the department, to SNU, or to ER for med-surg holds; possibility to float to another area ER as well
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing departmental education
• Maintain unit standards and foster a culture of teamwork and support

• 22-bed ER unit with surge capabilities; census averages 85 patients daily
