This contract opportunity focuses on delivering high-level care in a busy 30-bed MedSurg/Tele unit, serving a diverse patient population including cardiac, post-op, step-down ICU, and patients with CHF, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, sepsis, and related diagnoses.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour shifts: 7AM-7PM or 7PM-7AM
  • Weekend rotation: 5-6 shifts in a 6-week schedule
  • Major holiday coverage required (one shift per holiday group)
  • No on-call required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active RN license required
  • At least 2 years MedSurg/Tele nursing experience
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) competency; EKG Rhythm exam part of onboarding
  • ACLS certification and MedSurg national certification preferred, not mandatory
  • Confident in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and management of multiple IV infusions (heparin/insulin drips, glucommander use)
  • Competent in cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
  • Strong clinical and critical thinking skills for a Level 1 Trauma setting
  • Experience with Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, and Philips monitors preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive care for medical, post-op, and cardiac patients, managing a 1:4-6 RN-to-patient ratio
  • Collaborate with a skilled interdisciplinary team, including CNAs, resource nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory therapists
  • Engage in wound care, IV insertion, discharge planning, and patient education (especially for renal and fluid management)
  • Float to other MedSurg/Tele units as needed
