Experience the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care on a fast-paced telemetry/IMU unit. As a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical care, you’ll play a vital role supporting a 37-bed unit equipped with the latest PCA pumps, IV pumps, and chest tube technology. Collaborate with a skilled clinical team, including experienced RNs, patient care techs, and a unit clerk, all dedicated to delivering excellent outcomes for patients recovering from heart catheterization, central line procedures, and medication drips.
Schedule:
- 7AM – 7PM, 12-hour shifts
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Prior experience with telemetry or intermediate care preferred
- Background in procedures such as central line management, heart cath recovery, and medication drips is ideal
- Proficiency with EMR systems, Meditech familiarity is a plus
- Strong critical thinking abilities
- Positive, engaged attitude and ability to work independently
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients on a telemetry unit, ensuring early recognition of critical changes
- Administer and titrate medications
- Care for patients post-heart catheterization and manage central lines
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide patient education and emotional support
- Accurately document patient care and interventions within Meditech EMR
- Maintain compliance with unit and hospital guidelines and policies
