As an experienced RN with a strong background in Medical-Surgical nursing, you’ll play a vital role in providing high-quality transitional care for a diverse patient population. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to care for patients with a wide range of conditions—including CHF, COPD, kidney and liver issues, infections, wounds, and more—in a fast-paced, advanced setting.
Schedule/Hours:
- Night shift: 1830-0700
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday coverage: 50% of holidays in contract
- Flexible scheduling the department manages in 6-week increments
Qualifications:
- Current RN license and BLS & ACLS certifications required
- Minimum two years of recent Medical-Surgical experience
- Strong skills with trachs, chest tubes, IV starts, wound care, and dressing changes
- Central line blood draw, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and experience managing non-titrating drips (Heparin, Lasix, Protonix required; Cardizem and Amiodarone preferred but can be taught)
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Reliable, able to meet holiday and weekend requirements
Role Overview:
- Care for a patient ratio of approximately 1:5 in a 20-bed MedSurg/Tele unit
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including CNA support, 24/7 respiratory therapy and hospitalists, and bedside monitoring technology (EPIC, Alaris, Omnicell)
- Float within hospital scope as needed
- Complete onboarding including general orientation and two shifts on the unit
