Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) | Hillsdale, Michigan

Key qualifications and experience:

• Active and current RN license
• At least one year of recent experience in a Med-Surg hospital unit
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
• Ability to effectively collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

Schedule:

• Contract position with full-time hours
• Variable shifts available, including some weekends and holidays as required by the unit

Primary responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans for diverse adult populations
• Administer medications, therapies, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols
• Monitor vital signs and promptly identify changes in patient condition
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using hospital EMR
• Provide effective patient education and support prior to discharge
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues
