Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) in Horseheads, NY

Schedule:

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week

Duration:

• 13 weeks

Qualifications:

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum one year of recent experience in Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) nursing
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
• BLS certification (required); additional certifications a plus
• Ability to adapt quickly and function effectively within fast-paced units

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in medical-surgical units
• Perform thorough assessments, develop patient care plans, and document accurately
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per provider orders
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and continuing care needs
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure positive patient outcomes
