Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse in Huntersville, NC

Embark on an impactful nursing assignment utilizing your MedSurg/Tele expertise in a dynamic hospital setting. This contract role offers the opportunity to serve a diverse patient population, supporting a facility recognized as a Chest Pain and Stroke Center.

Schedule:

• Weekend rotation required (every other weekend)
• No on-call expectations
• Holiday participation (75% of major holidays)
• Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 18 months’ recent experience as MedSurg/Telemetry RN (Resource Team requirement)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with cardiac drips, medication administration, stroke care, chest tube management, trach and tube care, PIV starts, and advanced wound care
• Comfortable interpreting cardiac rhythms and managing PCA pumps
• Experience with Epic EMR and Omnicell medication dispensing is preferred
• Willingness to float to similar units across multiple facilities within the region as needed

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality care to medical telemetry patients, including those with end-stage renal disease, diabetes, sickle cell, behavioral health concerns, and fluid overload
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data, respond promptly to patient changes
• Initiate and titrate cardiac drips, administer blood products, and manage IV fluids
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic
• Flexibly float between assigned units, and facilities based on hospital need
