Registered Nurse Med Surg | Ithaca, New York

This contract position is available for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse with Med Surg expertise, seeking an impactful experience over a 13-week assignment. Night shifts are structured as three 12-hour shifts per week, offering a consistent schedule that supports work-life balance.

Schedule:

• 3x12-hour night shifts per week

Assignment Duration:

• 13 weeks

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license with no restrictions
• Minimum of one year’s experience in a Med Surg environment
• Proficient in contemporary nursing best practices, including electronic health records documentation
• Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and critical thinking abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe, evidence-based clinical care to diverse patient populations in a fast-paced Med Surg unit
• Triage, monitor, and implement individualized care plans for patients recovering from illness, surgery, or medical interventions
• Administer medications, monitor IVs, and perform treatments according to established protocols
• Accurately document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and support staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during hospitalization and transitions of care
