Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse in Ithaca, NY

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) care for an engaging contract opportunity. This role is ideal for professionals with strong clinical knowledge, adaptability, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Schedule:

• 3 shifts per week (12 hours each)
• Night shifts

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Demonstrated expertise in medical-surgical nursing
• Previous experience in a Med Surg unit preferred
• Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Skilled in electronic medical record documentation
• BLS certification required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med Surg floor
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, updating the healthcare team as needed
• Administer medications, treatments, and IVs according to established protocols
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and care plans
• Document interventions and assessments accurately and efficiently
• Maintain compliance with infection control and safety procedures
