This Med Surg/Telemetry role provides excellent exposure to a range of specialties, including General Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, and Orthopedics. Collaborate within a supportive care team while gaining new clinical insights, sharpening your assessment skills, and expanding your professional network. You’ll enhance your skills in rhythm interpretation and advanced therapies, all while experiencing different leadership and workplace practices unique to a new setting.
Schedule:
- 12-hour night shifts, 19:00–07:30, 3 shifts/week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call
- Assignment start: 6/8
Qualifications:
- Active KS RN or Compact RN license
- ACLS & BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry experience (within last 18 months) in a hospital
- Background in 5:1 RN ratio, General Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Orthopedics settings
- Experience with cellulitis, back pain, kidney stones
- Skilled in Heparin drips, TPN, PCA, and telemetry rhythm interpretation
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Must be comfortable assisting higher-dependency patients (2-assist)
- Willingness to float to all acute care units
- New graduates not accepted
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for Med Surg/Tele patients with a variety of diagnoses
- Utilize clinical expertise in managing lines, drips, PCAs, and telemetry
- Support patient mobility and ADLs, often as a 2-assist
- Collaborate across disciplines and document precisely in EPIC
- Adhere to facility guidelines, including floating and weekend coverage
