Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Unit | Keaau, HI | 13-Week Contract
A healthcare facility in Keaau, HI, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with Med/Surg expertise for a 13-week contract position. This role involves providing direct nursing care to adult patients in a dynamic medical-surgical unit, with potential to float to surgical pediatrics and transitional care units.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients aged 18 and over in a medical-surgical setting.
- Utilize medical technologies including Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tube management.
- Adapt to varied shift lengths and schedules, including day and night shifts, with flexibility required.
- Participate in the facility’s orientation and department-specific training during the first week.
- Maintain a professional nursing dress code and follow hospital policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Hawaii State RN license or willingness to obtain before assignment start.
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience or experience in a higher level of care.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Ability to work flexible shifts without guaranteed hours or shift preferences.
- Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday. Timely arrival is mandatory.
Additional Details:
- Position includes 36 scheduled hours per week after orientation.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio approximately 1:5.
- No holiday release time off permitted during assignment.
- Professional nursing attire required; no specific scrub color, closed-toe shoes mandatory.
