Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Lawrenceville, Georgia

A rewarding contract opportunity is available for an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse with a focus on renal care. This role cares for adult and geriatric patients, emphasizing both technical proficiency and compassionate, evidence-based nursing.

Schedule/Hours:

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off permitted during assignment
• Holiday coverage per assignment period as specified

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with at least two years of recent Med/Surg experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Skilled in renal care, including HD catheter management, Manual PD/PD cycler use, and managing CKD and hypertensive emergencies
• Experience with sepsis care, tele monitoring, ETOH management (CIWA protocol), and UTI care preferred
• Comfortable with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio and managing an average census of 18
• Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
• Able to float as needed within the facility
• Compliance with facility onboarding is mandatory for timely start

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients primarily on a renal Med/Surg unit
• Monitor and manage acute and chronic conditions, ensuring timely intervention and communication
• Complete thorough documentation and medication administration with a focus on safety
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and participate in patient education
• Adhere to schedule requirements, including weekend and holiday rotations
• Uphold high standards of professionalism in uniform (navy, white, or combinations)
