This travel role places you on a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit, caring for a patient population that includes spinal neuro trauma, surgical cases, gunshot wounds, quadriplegics, and paraplegics. Exposure to these challenging cases is a powerful way to hone your critical thinking and adapt to cutting-edge care protocols. You’ll collaborate with talented Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and a supportive night unit secretary, ensuring you’re never without a team. Direct nurse handoffs between the ED nurse and admitting unit enable smoother transitions and enhance clinical communication.
Schedule/Hours:
- Must be flexible and able to work assigned shifts (block schedules not available)
- NO RTO (Requests for Time Off) permitted during assignment
Qualifications:
- Current RN license with minimum 2 years’ MS/Trauma Specialty experience
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Proficient in EPIC
- Strong adaptability in high-acuity environments
- Experience working with spinal neuro trauma and surgical/trauma patients a plus
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to trauma and neuro-surgical patients in a fast-paced setting
- Oversee a 5:1 patient ratio, ensuring patient safety and high-quality outcomes
- Coordinate with support staff and participate in structured nurse handoffs
- Accurately document and communicate care utilizing EPIC
